He will make a return to the politically incorrect team of the Miami Hurricanes. The last few times Meyer has coached in Florida, it was not all roses; he encountered off field troubles with the Florida Gators and Jaguars. This would give him the chance to fix things so he took the risk. This is even true when Nick Saban is also gone giving Meyer the best opportunity to take the mantle as the best in the coaching of the sport.
When Meyer coached at Florida, before 25 of his players got arrested and before critics started asking whether he was capable of coaching a team, he was unbeatable. During this period the Gators achieved two BCS National Championships, SEC Titles and three division titles and sustained a record of 65-15. In Ohio State, Meyer scored 83 wins out of 124 with the other National Championship, three Big Ten Titles and three Big Ten East Division titles a foot.
To Meyer his kind of coaching style would tweak the Miami Hurricanes. At the moment, Mario Cristobal is the head coach of the team and he has been in this office for two years. That last two seasons Miami has been maintaining records of 5-7 and 7-6 and this is worse than what they were posting under Manny Diaz. He has not been able to instill successful mentality into the program, and as is evident, this is making his seat really hot. Add to that, some of the misguided coaching moves, such as failing to take a knee in the final moments against Georgia Tech, which could have sewn up the victory only for them to lose the match.
Once upon a time Miami is, or at least was a power program, if they keep Cristobal they will lose that reputation as well. Meyer is the only coach which will be able to bring the program back to winning ways and get the most of the available talent. On top of that, with Miami being one of the hotbeds for recruiting, this would afford Meyer the ability to bring Miami in as one of the most sought after school in the country thus ensuring the future of the program and that it once again monopolizes the state.
