Rawlins has lost his last couple of encounters with Lander Valley but the tide could turn on Friday. The Rawlins Cougars will be playing at home against the Lander Valley Pirates at TBA p.m.
Rawlins is now set to search for a turnaround in form heading into Friday’s game as they had their 11th straight loss since the last season on Thursday. They were given a run for their money when they were pulled down 35-7 by Hoffman Estates. Losing is never easy, but the Cougars can hardly be too disappointed since they stand much worse in MaxPreps’ Illinois football rankings; they are 335th, whereas the Hawks are only 151st.
However, Lander Valley swaggered into their Thursday clash with five wins in a row… and left with six. They took the victory after a tight 28-21 with the Vikings. The score was 14-14 at the interval but Pirates were the dominant side in the second period.
Losing to Rawlins reduced their performance to 0-7. For Lander Valley it gave them a 6-1 record on the season as they continued a three game home winning streak.
