Washington Huskies Defeat Utah 35-28 in a Thrilling Showdown
It was an adrenaline-pumping game when the Washington Huskies beat the Utah Utes 35-28 on November 12th, 2023. The game was closely contested all along with no team leading by more than 7 points at any point.

He helped the Huskies in scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions of the game. Michael Penix Jr., quarterback, threw a touchdown pass to Rome Odunze in the first drive and then also scored one after that.
The Huskies led 14 – 7 after one touchdown for the Utes.
The Huskies scored another touchdown in the second quarter from Penix Jr. to wide receiver Ja’lynn Polk. With a field goal, the Utes replied, while the Huskies had 21 points at the break.
In the first half, the Utes tied three field goals for a score of 9-6. However, the Utes came out stronger in the second half and scored touchdowns on their first two possessions tying the game at 21-21. After this, the Huskies answered a touchdown of their own, passing it from Penix Jr. to wide receiver Taj Davis.
After that, the Utes scored yet another field goal that reduced this to 28 – 24. Then, the final nail in the coffin was driven by Huskies running back Wayne Taulapapa’s touchdown run that sealed this victory.
The defense of Huskies was very crucial as they did not allow more than twenty-eight points with the Utes. Huskies forced three turnovers, which included two interception against the utah quarterback, cameron rising.
Penix Jr., playing for the Huskies, finished with 28 completions out of 40, for 332 yards, and scored four touchdowns. He also managed to score 55 yards and a touchdown.
Odunze was the top receiver of the Huskies, catching ten passes for 170 yards and scoring two times. Polk caught five passes for 92 yards with a score while Davis snatched three receptions totaling 63 yards and also a touch down.
Tulapapa rushed for 59 yards and scored one touchdown in the game leading his own team, Huskies.
The Utes gave a tough fight to Risin who managed 25 out of 43 for 289 yards, and scored twice. He further scored for 31 yards.
Six receptions for 12 yards and a touchdown by Devaughn Vele, a Utah wide receiver. Six receptions for one TD and netted 97 yards went to TE Dalton Kincaid.
The former also included Tavion Thomas, a running back for Utah with 16 attempts totaling 87 yards.
The win putted Huskies at 9-3 overall, 7-2 conference record. The Huskies currently lead the Pac-12 North division, with control over their journey the Pac-12 championship game.
In addition, the Utah’s loss brought the record of the Utes to 8-4 overall and 6-3 in the regular conference game. UTA has taken the lead of the Pac-12 south division, and is only one step away from playing the pac-12 championship game it needs help from other teams.
