NFL preseason Week 1 fantasy football recap

While NFL preseason stats do not contribute to consideration for a fantasy football championship, this does not mean that those numbers are completely insignificant to follow. Specifically, Exhibition action presents gamers with an insight of what has been discovered and enables late-round flier ranking readjustment. Indeed, sometimes just a chance to display the talent is enough to make the roster or not, which in turn sometimes opens the door during the regular season amid numerous competitiveness.

With that said, here is the whirl around the splendid and lackluster first week of preseason performances.

RB Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers: No startling statistics this time but Mason (6-34-1) had a relatively decent performance against Tennessee. This will be a game that must be watched as the backups Mitchell (hamstring) and the rookie running back Guerendo (hamstring) are also sidelined due to their injuries while the main starter McCaffrey is only out for a calf injury. Maybe more relevant to Mason, newly signed veteran Matt Breida failed to gain a yard while getting six carries.

QB Will Levis, Tennessee Titans: A possible Year 2 breakout, Levis began with a good performance, 35 aerial yards on four completions (five attempts). He also had a small rushing touchdown as well he contributed. Encouraging!

QB Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers: For this short time he managed to have a perfect passer rating and throw a 65-yard touchdown to Dontayvion Wicks. Love is set to take fantasy gamers something big next as appears from the above narration.

Las Vegas Raiders quarterbacks: They both played and Gardner Minshew did not do anything extra badly, and Aidan O’Connell also did not do anything extra good where he stood out from Minshew, but Minshew did throw a pretty touch pass to DJ Turner for the score. This one could reach the dying minute.

Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks: Sam Darnold played low but he is expected to start the match. J. J. McCarthy, a first-round draft pick in the recent April NFL draft began his match by tossing a deadly interception before stabilising and showing why he was drafted. Of 17 tries the Michigan product converted 11 to a yield of 188 yards and two touchdowns of at least 33 yards each. Fortunately for Jet’s fan, Darold’s reign looks to be short lived, or in the case of this past Sunday, short Yarded.

QB Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears: The number 1 pick in the draft had a good first outing, completing 95 yards, on 4-7 passing but 42 of which came on a screen pass to the running back D’Andre Swift. This Williams further assisted a 13-yard rush and equally did not have a turnover. Solid start.

QB Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders: The next player selected in April’s NFL draft threw only three times, connecting on just two of them for 45 yards; however, he gave the illusion of being involved, and Daniels raced for a short touchdown. That general performance profile is what gamers should expect from him in his rookie season, Year 1.

New York Jets backup RBs: The late touchdown was made by Israel Abanikanda; however, they showed better yardage metrics from Braelon Allen (6 car, 54 yds) and Isaiah Davis (4 receptions for 33 yds). Out of all these three, Allen does seem to be the most likely candidate of this trio to fill in the Breece Hall’s fantasy handcuff and occasional substitute.

WR A. T. Perry, New Orleans Saints: Not yet draftable, Perry had a chance to be on fantasy watch lists this week after catching all four of his targets for 85 yards – none of which from Carr, to be clear.

WR Brian Thomas Jr. , Jacksonville Jaguars: The rookie of LSU origin got only one catch but he concerned himself with 41-yard pass through great deal of traffic. He should be a large part of this passing game, and while C. J. Beathard delivered that pass to Thomas, Trevor Lawrence proved to be a good passer in a limited action finishing 3 of 4, 42 yards, and a touchdown.

QB Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: His wrist is not a problem and Burrow, in the first quarter made a short pass to Tee Higgins for a touchdown. Unsuredly select No. 9 between low-end QB1 and high-end QB2.

WR Jermaine Burton, Cincinnati Bengals: Well, that could be the first of many for this rookie of the NFL! Burton, who is in the running to replace veteran Tyler Boyd, had the line of 3-82-1, where he scored a TD tossing from the backup Logan Woodside.

RB Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Another rookie, Irving got 28-yards and a touchdown on 6 carries but was possibly outdone by Tucker’s 6. Got eight yards per carry on 10 carries; ain’t bad. Tampa might have a lovely problem on its hands behind Rachaad White.

Friday, Aug. 9 notables

RB Jaylen Wright, Miami Dolphins: The fourth round rookie did not misuse his 10 carries which yielded 55 yards and he had barged his way to a six yard touchdown run up the middle. Because of the backs of doubtful reliability he is a useful flier in the scope of fantasy.

Is New York Jets RB Breece Hall now handcuffed?

QB C. J. Stroud, Houston Texans: Despite this, the game was not long as Stroud came back into action to make a 34-yard scoring pass to Tank Dell in-stride.

Thursday, Aug. 8 notables

RB Eric Gray, New York Giants: Rushing scores here and there in the opener was enough to pull Gray nearer to the wit of actually being the 1b to Singletary’s 1a. In the year 2023, Gray had dealt with 23 total offensive handles, and he was able to produce 52 ground yards and 46 of aerial gains for the four rushing and receiving touches respectively. For now the second-year pro is a mere lottery ticket and nothing more than a flier option in leagues that have at least ten teams.

QB Joe Milton III, New England Patriots: Vrable’s debut was good but it will be a minor miracle for this former Tennessee Volunteer to contribute in fantasy this season. Still, stranger things have happened with sixth-round quarterbacks in Foxborough.
