Horace has lost his last couple of encounters with Red River but the tide could turn on Friday. The Horace Cougars will be playing at home against the Red River Pirates at TBA p.m.
Horace is now set to search for a turnaround in form heading into Friday’s game as they had their 11th straight loss since the last season on Thursday. They were given a run for their money when they were pulled down 35-7 by Hoffman Estates. Losing is never easy, but the Cougars can hardly be too disappointed since they stand much worse in MaxPreps’ Illinois football rankings; they are 335th, whereas the Hawks are only 151st.
However, Red River swaggered into their Thursday clash with five wins in a row… and left with six. They took the victory after a tight 28-21 with the Vikings. The score was 14-14 at the interval but Pirates were the dominant side in the second period.
Losing to Horace reduced their performance to 0-7. For Red River it gave them a 6-1 record on the season as they continued a three game home winning streak.
Earlier this season, the Horace team was severely humbled by Red River with the final score standing at 38:14 in favor of the latter that took place in October of the 2023.
