Georgia Football Depth Chart Preview Preseason Projection for Offense

Georgia begins fall camp this week and the roster is — to use an expression from Bill Belichick — beefed up with talent. They have some big names to live up to on offense and defense, the question remains, who will be the names on the first team and the backup this year? The Bulldogs are relatively lucky in the regard of having a lot of depth this season and that is clearly evidenced by the depth chart above. Here is where we believe the depth chart sits at every position for the Bulldogs ahead of fall camp:Here is where we believe the depth chart sits at every position for the Bulldogs ahead of fall camp:

QB:

Carson Beck

Gunner Stockton

Jaden Rashada

Ryan Puglisi

Beck is still being praised in this offseason how he led the SEC in passing yards in his first season as a starter. The major concern as to this group particularly Stockton is how much playing time is he to have in this particular season, conversely how has his offseason training been? As Beck is already on the precipice of heading off to the NFL, the more answers Georgia has for the other names still in the room before the 2025 season, the better it is for them.

RB:

Trevor Etienne

Roderick Robinson

Branson Robinson

Etienne will bring that element to Georgia’s running game this season that the Bulldogs arguably haven’t had since D’Andre Swift was at Georgia. Keep a guy off balance and sock it to him for six. Ah, the touch for that fans got during the spring game this year. R. Robinson is likely to begin as the second choice with B. Robinson still recovering from an injury, but he is likely to be back to full action much sooner than later. Behind those three names, it's Cash Jones and a group of freshmen fighting for reps: Three outstanding employees named by the respondents are Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens and Dwight Phillips. Frazier very well could insert himself into the mix at some point this season.

WR - X:

Dillon Bell

Colbie Young

Rara Thomas was projected to be the stater at X this season before his suspension, which now puts Bell in this role. Georgia can install Bell at the X as they have done in games preceding such as the game against Tennessee in 2023. But if Young is all what he was portrayed to be as a vertical big-body threat then he takes that position and Bell as advertised is a plug and play anywhere type.

WR - Z:

Arian Smith

London Humphreys

Smith has been one of the most electrifying players for the Bulldogs over the years with his blistering speed but there were some tactical issues in 2023 as he dropped ball during the game and has been rather inconsistent. As long as he comes back with the explosive play style this season, he will be a familiar name at Z with with the Vanderbilt transfer Humphreys trailing closely behind him. Another name that can be mentioned here is true freshman Nitro Tuggle if the Bulldogs begin to rotate in behind the two-deep at this position. Could also see some packages where Bell is utilized at this spot with Young at X.

WR - $:

Dominic Lovett

Anthony Evans

Georgia returns a lot of talent at slot this year. Missouri transfer Lovett should be one of the main beneficiaries of competition at the Bulldogs’ backfield in his second year and if he is make defenders miss after catch, as he did after the spring game, he should be a menace to Georgia. The promising Evans burst onto the scene last season and should improve with a year’s experience under his belt this season. Two excellent choices for Beck to work with from the pocket and a slew of possibilities in this area for having big plays.

TE:

Oscar Delp

Benjamin Yurosek

Lawson Luckie

Georgia needed a depth player this offseason at tight end because of the smart decision for Pearce Sprulin to medically retire from football, and they signed Yurosek to come from Stanford. Delp has waited his turn to be the top player in the group for the past two years he plated second to Brock Bowers so he could easily have a Break Out type of year. Yurosek has already gotten love from the NFL and he can be that Swiss army knife at the tight end position for this season. Behind Collins and Doege, Luckie occupies the third-string role, although Jaden Reddell must be also considered after an excellent spring practice.

LT:

Earnest Greene

Jamal Meriweather

Georgia is again well set at left tackle going into this season. Greene was a very reliable and a good starting point guard for the Georgia the last season and is expected to contribute the same this coming season while at the same time is likely to see some boost in his draft profile. Meriweather is the backup that directly positions right behind him after being a redshirt in 2023 and if the Bulldogs ever have to make a call on his number this season, then the fans will have the same level of quality in play in the position as they had before.

LG:

Dylan Fairchild

Micah Morris

A position on the roster that is loaded down absolutely. Last year Fairchild came from nowhere and NFL teams are practically salivating for him to get started with his professional football career. That Morris is sitting right behind him is as good as a two on the depth chart as it gets. Two very good football players and both will see the field this year as they are freshmen that are expected to play.

Center:

Jared Wilson

Drew Bobo/Tate Ratledge

Wilson enters to play in the starting lineup with Sedrick Van Pran now playing with the NFL. In the case of Wilson mainly discussed in the post, he is a very physically endowed and very possibly a marginal athlete of the center spot. This might take a little hit this year which is practically unavoidable when losing a talent like Van Pran but if Wilson is up for the position the Dawgs will still boast of one of the best centers. The position for Bobo is listed here as number 2 and if Georgia was to replace someone in the middle of the game Ratledge would surely shift over.

RG:

Tate Ratledge

Daniel Calhoun

A huge amount of snaps at right guard with Ratledge as the initial player, but the main information concerning Georgia here is that Calhoun began practicing with the two-deep roster. He was among the best offensiv line talents that the Bulldogs chased in the off season. He logged good production this year in the spring and the fans could even look forward to more years of having Calhoun in their roster especially that Ratledge might be leaving to play in the NFL next year.

RT:

Xavier Truss

Monroe Freeling

Another area that Georgia has plenty of practice in after Truss declared his comeback. Veteran players always take the stand in such circumstances and rightfully so Truss has been confirmed as the starting right tackle for this year. Nevertheless, Freeling appeared to be impressive when he replaced Truss in the Vanderbilt match the previous year; he is positioned well behind Truss as the season starts. Two really good options for Georgia to work with at right tackle this year.
