Bears have all the pieces to turn into a winning franchise, starting with Caleb Williams: Analysis

Williams and the starters didn’t play in Chicago’s weather-shortened 21-17 win over the Houston Texans on Thursday night.

But he learned from the sideline at least the rudiments of the highly important defense mechanism.

“He went through the pre-game and then bringing him right before the game, talking to him about what he needs to know based off the information we give him as the quarterback and that’s information that’s pertinent to locations on the field, what we’re doing, when we’re going for stuff, all those things,” Bears coach Matt Eberflus said. “That was his first time going through pre-game, first time getting all the information told to him like that, right there he was following halftime adjustments so he got to see that for the first time and it’s not college where you have 30 minutes at halftime where you can put in a whole new offense. ”

Of course, if the Bears required any reminding that a rookie QB could transform a team’s fortunes very very soon, all that the Bears had to do was take a peep at the other side of the field.
