Patriots Announce Personnel Changes for the 2024 Season

Prior to the beginning of the training camp, Patriots have announced hiring five new members for the personnel staff and four promotions among employees.

Highsmith was hired to work as a senior personnel executive, meanwhile Belongia entered the Green Bay Packers staff as the area scout, Midwest Kronenberg was made a Pro Scout for the team and Richardson and Landon Simpson respectively served as scouting assistants for the team.

Furthermore, it was noted that new promotions were given to four members of the staff. Many changes of organizational chart have been made in the team some of them include, Patrick Stewart has been promoted from assistant director of pro personnel to director of pro personnel, Sam Fioroni from Pro Personnel Administrative Assistant to assistant director of pro personnel, Marshall Oium from assistant director of football strategy to director of football strategy and Marquis Dickerson from football operations to pro scout.

RECENT PERSONNEL ADDITIONS

Gm – Alonzo Highsmith – football operations general manager – University of Miami – two seasons (2022-23). Before Miami, he defined his position as the senior executive advisor to the general manager for the Seattle Seahawks, Florida situated NFL team for two years from 2020 to 2022, vice president of personnel for the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers for more than a year from 2018-19 and finally joined the Green Bay Packers as a senior personnel executive between 19 seasons from 1999 to 2017. First, he was drafted in first round to Houston Oilers as thrid overall in the 1986 NFL Draft and played in NFL for six seasons for Houston, Dallas, and Tampa Bay.

Sean Pecora – Sean Belongia – Belongia comes to New England as a general manager for the club, although in the previous ten seasons worked in the same position in the personnel department of Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bob Kronenberg – Kronenberg takes credit of an assistant of an offensive line coach in Atlanta Falcons team for the 2019-2020 seasons and has been a member of the Falcons team’s area scout department between the years 2012 and 2018. He also worked with the Georgia Force & Nashville Katz of AFL an American football league.

A. J. Richardson – Richardson who signed for New England is a product of the University of Missouri. He begun playing football at Boise state and was in the Arizona Cardinals practice squad in the 2019-2020 season. In 2022 Lea played for the Michigan Panthers of the USFL as a wide receiver.

Landon Simpson – Simpson is the new director of player personnel in New England followed the previous two seasons of his work in the University of Miami, where he was the coordinator of the player personnel/head coach recruiting analyst.

PERSONNEL PROMOTIONS

Marquis Dickerson – He was just promoted to a pro scout position after he served the last two seasons as a scouting assistant to the Patriots.

Sam Fioroni – Fioroni is in his fourth year with the Patriots in the personnel department; he was just recently upgraded in the team from a pro scout which he was for three years to an assistant director in the same department. He was drafted to the Patriots after receiving his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and served in the recruiting department of the said school. Before that he was with Cleveland for three seasons in various capacities in the scouting department.

Marshall Oium –, Oium is in his seventh year with the Patriots and was recently appointed the director of football strategy after being the assistant director of scouting for a year and having worked as a pro scout for five years. Before signing on with the Patriots, Oium was associated with the Cleveland Browns of the NFL – albeit as a pro scout in the 2007 – 2008 seasons.

Others were; Patrick Stewart – Stewart was promoted to director of pro personnel. He resigned from the New England team in the year 2023- after spending much of his time playing for the Patriots from the year 2007 to the year 2017. Stewart is a national scout for Philadelphia after he bolted the New England team in the 2018-19 season. He was given the Carolina Panthers director of player personnel in 2020, and was promoted to vice president of player personnel in 2021, he held the position for two seasons before coming back to the Patriots.

Eliot Wolf is the Executive Vice President of the organization’s player personnel.
