Michigan Football 2024 Preview Offense: How Fast Can The Wolverines Rebuild?
Kirk Campbell becomes the team’s quarterbacks coach through the beginning of the season, and then he is promoted to the team’s offensive coordinator; he certainly won’t alter the wheel that brought the team this much success over the last three years.

The Michigan offense that tuned it over just eight times, and was so efficient, and so brutally effective all worked because of one key thing: the offense line under Sherrone Moore’s leadership.
There was a time at the end of the lost 2020 season and everything seemed to hit the players all of a sudden. Michigan was down to Penn State and getting ready to face the second half of the season with a 2-4 record, but the Oline somehow appeared to be darker, meaner, had that rising from the ashes kind of mentality that said that enough was enough.
For the next three years the Wolverines were on a rampage and did not lose a match. This success relieved all other teams, the defence played as expected, and the system was marvelous.
The climax was recorded last season with Michigan beating Penn State 24-15; it was evident that they did not have to pass as a way of sealing the victory, in the second half of the game. Instead, a flag was thrown on a JJ McCarthy pass, BUT that does not make the point NEARLY as sweet.
The whole unit is rebuilding but the talent is there with a few second stringers poised to become the main characters.
Greg Crippen should be a major factor taking over the center job, Myles Hinton started at tackle almost half of last year and should step in on the left side, and this year’s new portal puzzle piece from Michigan is Josh Priebe from Northwestern for one of the guard gigs.
- The running game will on go on. Blake Corum was special. The man gained 1,245 yards and 27 touchdowns, and this summer he will be drafted for fantasy football by the LA Rams as the sleeper.
Donovan Edwards therefore only made an average of 4. 2 yards per carry, but he has plenty of tread in the tires, can catch, and now comes the production. The backups are good – Kalel Mullings is a 6-2, 239-pound thumper who gained 6. 1 yards per tote.
- The structure in which Nemtchinov now serves a similar function was exactly ideal for JJ McCarthy. What did Michigan need? Connect on third down throws, don’t self-destruct, step up when everything is on the line. He completed 72% of his passing, had 4 interceptions, and his come through drive against Alabama was stellar. Now he is Minnesota Viking.
Orji, a 6-2, 236 pound all-around weapon, got some demonstrations in on the ground when he had a chance, but he did not pass a ball last year. He won’t be as proficient as McCarthy was, but the requisite skills are present, the running game shall alleviate heat, and the receivers shall once again be matchless.
Colston Loveland, if he is not the premier recruit at tight end right now, he is the second one in the country. He was second on the teams with 649 yards and four scores as he received 45 catches. Years wide receivers may be new to the starting jobs, but let me tell you, they are all very, very talented.
Semaj Morgan made a 22 receptions last year and is quite the mover. Fredrick Moore must be dangerous outside, and Tyler Morris is a dangerous, fast-forwarding player, which needs targeting more. The depth, however, can be somewhat worrisome - the starters are just getting acclimatized to the new environment.
