Touted as Cleveland’s contentious quarterback, whose return to the NFL was the second-string after getting a suspension for one season and suffering a severe fracture to his shoulder in the next season, said as he approaches his critical and final year with the Browns, he has adapted a new way of doing things.

On his second day of training camp, Watson highlighted that or his part, he will not be diving into external opinions.

The 28 year old has not proven his worth to the Browns who signed him in the year 2022 having had accusations of sexual assault being leveled against him by as many as twenty-four massage therapists.

It has been contentious Cleveland quarterback, who has only started 12 times in the last two years because of a NFL suspension and than a fractured shoulder which require major surgery said on Friday that he has worked on a new attitude which is his vital third year with the Browns.

“Honestly,” he said. I just don’t observe everything outside and he added using vulgar language “It’s really just blocking out all the (stuff), outside”. On this scenario coming in second year was difficult since everything was different, the environment, the team, even the all was different. So you arrive and your character is being referred to in this way and suddenly it turns on you and you’re the one trying to be liked or to change.

“But now it’s like ay, at the end of the day, man, it been two years in and if you ain’t like me or if you got your own opinion – then fuhgeddaboudit It is what it is Then shutting down all the hate and self-sabotage and focusing on the task at hand, which is to improve as Deshaun Watson for my sake, for my family, and for my

The Browns expected the same thing from Baker Mayfield their former starter, but they are expecting Watson to be an elite quarterback — only. They signed him at their new home in 2022, acquiring him from Houston, with the fully guaranteed $230 million contract that did not start paying off yet.

Watson was suspended for 11 games in his first year of serving the NFL after an accused sexual assault of over two dozen females masseuses in Texas. He started reverberating big rustiness in the last season — he also missed 2021 in the Texans due to contract issues — before suffering from the fracture of glenoid bone in his throwing shoulder in the game against the Baltimore team in the 10th week.

However, if two grand juries did not see enough evidence to even force a trial then Watson is acceptable to some fans, however there are same fans out there who wish that the Browns looked elsewhere for a brand new franchise quarterback.

Speaking of negative comments, Watson knows the taste of the audience’s booing and hatred.

He said that sometimes it is not very easy either to accept or to ignore.

“oh sure. My character was getting challenged,” he said. I know who and what I am most of the times. Many people hardly knew my background or who the real me was, so they are going based on what other people tell them or what they hear from other people.

“I mean I am a person that likes people to like me and I think many people do feel like that So sometimes in your head you just have to churn and just have to be like, ‘Oh screw that, ’ It is what it is. ”

For the Browns it is quite vexed as they have stood by Watson and are now toying with the hope that he can get back to his best and be one of the NFL’s premier playmakers as he was before the legal woes and the shoulder issue.

The previous day, Watson practiced for the second consecutive day at the training camp; moreover, he engaged in 11-on-11 action for the first time after taking a surgical procedure in November. Said the 28-year-old: ‘It frankly is gratifying to advance steadily. ’

“I am right on track; right where I would like to be,” he replied. “I am at the right place right now that doctors wanted me to be and all I have to do is to keep going as per the script that is envisioned for me and myself, and take things with a pace of day by day focus and nail down on what lies ahead of us. ”

Even though Browns are hopeful that Watson would be available for the game against Dallas on September 8 they have undertaken a rather passive plan of action. The Browns’ head coach, Kevin Stefanski remains tight-lipped on whether Watson will be able to play any of the preseason games.

Longtime Browns fan Watson has always been very composed and the sign of puts his teammates at ease but even star defensive end Myles Garrett has noticed something is different about his quarterback.

“His spirit has really grown as far as just being more excited to be on the field and being happy to be around,” said Garrett, voted AP Defensive Player the Year after a devastating year 2023. At other times, he has been a little frustrated with the state of his shoulder, just wishing to be back out there with the guys, wishing to be in a position where he can help and guide.

“It must be very frustrating to not be able to go out there and play and show the team that you can be a strong leader out there on the field. ” But slowly and gradually he started to regain the morale and physically too he felt that he could regain his position as a player, as a leader of the team and I found it very refreshing that he is growing back into that role.

For the first time, Watson doesn’t have such pressure, she is liberated.

“Last year I was hoping that’s going to be the year where I can play a full year and build my gameplay get a full season under my belt, then the injury happened,” he said. “I was so disappointed early morning not just because I can’t showcase to this organization what I have got”.

“I know that they invest quite a lot in me, but sometimes with injuries like that you can’t do much about it So quite a number of things just did not pan out well in the last two years, praying and taking it one day at a time that everything will be done this year. ”
