College Football Playoff ranking release schedule: Dates, times for 2024 season

The college football season is less than two weeks away from commencing, now the dates for the release of College Football Playoff rankings have been set.

Thursday morning the College Football Playoff Selection Committee outlined today its schedule for releasing its rankings this season as the selection committee convened in Southern California this week.
The rankings will be announced for the first time on Tuesday, November 5, the American Election Day and Week 11 of the 2024 season and will be published over a period of four weeks and three days before the release of the first 12-team CFP. The committee also laid down that as the five winners of conference championships take automatic status for the playoff, the four of them that emerge top will get first round waivers, and as such conference championships are no longer a criteria for breaking ties.
