Following Oklahoma and Texas, two teams of Big 12, joining the SEC, the later will no longer be divided into two divisions; all the 16 teams will play against each other. With that, the SEC Championship Game will be played between the two best teams of the conference at the conclusion of the regular season and not between the two division champions.

The Texas, which has transferred to the SEC just this year, has a 7. 1-point average win count for this coming year, tied for the highest with Georgia.

For the upcoming season, Texas Longhorn will be back again in the College Football Playoff; The starting quarterback will be Quinn Ewers who performed well in the 2023 season.

Others reckon that Georgia is the team to beat in the SEC in 2024 nonetheless.

The Bulldogs returning 16 starters includes the QB Carson Beck who is favorite to win the Heisman at +750 and defensive back Malaki Starks.

And the biggest change? In total 17 seasons, the specialist Nick Saban will not be anymore the head coach at Alabama. How do these talkers think Kalen DeBoer could fill his massive shoes with the Tide?

It is suspected that DeBoer will find it hard, going by the fact that Alabama has the lowest preseason title odds and projected win total since 2008.

Texas Over/Under 10. 5 wins

The Longhorns are officially scheduled for the SEC in 2024; on the schedule, they have good all losses written all over them.

For this I’m predicting they will lose two out of perhaps twelve games.

He hasn’t played this year but don’t expect the Longhorn’s Football team to be the same team that made the College Football Playoff last year, they just aren’t. Boot out the Longhorn’s two wide receiver, two tackles and one running back, all of which were selected in the first 52 selections of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Now, I am not disputing that Texas did reload at the receiver position via the portal or that I wouldn’t doubt the Texas offense under Sark even though he did spend time as a coordinator at Alabama helping to produce the Sooner offense; however, I think it is still prudent to wonder about the defense going into the year. The previous season, the defensive side of the team was one of the best in the leagues concerning the stopping ability of the run but flopped when it came to stopping the pass when the opposing teams had decent passing abilities. Now it is gone, and their two best run-stuffing defensive tackles are in the NFL and, at best, none of the replacements seem quite as good.

Now, you are stuck with just the passing defense without the rush up the middle boost it was enjoying before Reid took over. This I feel might be enough to cost them two games.

Texas will have two games against Oklahoma in Dallas before the holiday, and then Georgia will be at home. That can’t be done if they want to remain above the 10-win mark in those games they have to split. Of course, it is possible to achieve both, I still think that followed by Oklahoma, beating Georgia will be quite a challenge.

That puts Texas in a position where they cannot afford to have less than that as their win total. One more loss — possibly on Thanksgiving weekend to Texas A&M, which has Mike Elko getting A&M to play solid football — and I get my Under 10 wins bet paid for.

Texas is supple in my mind a 10-win team and I will take the bet.

PICK: Texas Under 10. 5 wins

Among the teams that RJ Young ranked as 11-25 heading into the year 2024, Alabama & Oklahoma stands out as the best.

For them, the insert want Alabama to win the SEC.

Were you to ask me for a conference winner without the probability of abetting in a bet, then I would lift Georgia as my 2024 winner. Nevertheless, +700 is something I believe cannot be refused for an Alabama team which I believe is way more equipped than we think.

Indeed, Alabama had to face a coaching change after the retirement of Nick Saban with the newcomer Kalen Deboer. Certain ones left, but a large portion of the team remained intact and DeBoer was able to acquire his own players.

It would seem that Every place he goes to coaching, the winning comes in quick succession.

When DeBoer took the reigns of the Washington program, they stood at a 4-8 record and practically had no organization. DeBoer has 104-12 in the five years at Sioux Falls the three time national champions Boise state, two years at Fresno state and two years at Washington the Pac twelve champions.

Looking at the schedule, the Alabama has all the ingredients to reach the SEC title game if it will take care of the task ahead. This is after the bye week hence Georgia is playing at home. Bama is at LSU following a off week and at Tennessee in between home conference games against South Carolina and Missouri.

This number for them to win he conference title will not be better, and its something to have in your back pocket later in the season.

PICK: Favored team of Alabama to win the SEC with the odds of 700.

Ole Miss at Florida

Florida is on a break on Oct. 26 then it begins it all As for the rest of the season, Florida has a bye on Oct. 26, but then the fun begins. These are its next four games: In a beat Georgia in Jacksonville, Texas in Austin, LSU at home, and Ole Miss to conclude the four game series.

Now that’s four in a row that are ranked 12th or better.

That stretch could be Billy Napier’s last at Florida and his team will be gassed come the Rebels visit Gainesville. Ole Miss also will be coming off a bye week when they come to The Swamp in week nine.

This number should easily be more than a touchdown by the time the kickoff arrives. It will be even better if you get on this before the beginning of the baseball season begins.

PICK: Yes, two of them; ‘The Rebels of Ole Miss (-6. 5) to win by more than 6. ’ 5 points
